Testimonials

“I remember you eating a lot of cheese when you helped out with that flash mob... You ate a lot of cheese that day.”
-Brett H, Improviser

“The day I moved to Wisconsin, you were literally the only person I knew here. We connected instantly and one of the first things you did was get me Gouda (my favorite) from Brennan’s as a welcome gift.” -Samantha Ward, Friend

“I still have part of a block of cheese that Nina brought with her the last time she visited me. I can’t bring myself to throw it away.”
-Mark M, Former Lover

“I have depended on Nina to supply family gatherings with cheese platters, beer, and wine since I moved back to Chicago. Most recently, she’s been bringing assortments of goat cheeses in an attempt to accommodate my dairy sensitivity.”
-Kim Davis, Mother

“...and then it hit me. If anyone would appreciate this Brie, it’s Nina.”
-Jake Snell, Comedian

“When I first came to your place, you had made a “shark board” including cheeses you had selected to go with our personality types.”
- Sophie, former lover

“I have seen a lot of resumes and this one is by far the most impressive. It’s so thorough; so cheese-focused. I’d like to hire you.” -K, Former Employer

“Nina, is that a block of cheese in your purse? Wait. You brought three different blocks of cheese to this wedding?”
-Max K, Groomsman

“The first time I went to your house was when I was still new to Wisconsin. Paul and Ami were over for improv practice, and you brought out a cheese plate with five different cheeses in succession. I thought you were doing a bit. I maybe made fun of you at first, but it rubbed off on me, and now I’m that person when I hang out with my friends from Michigan. Just a few weeks ago, I fed four of my friends paired cheese bites from a “local cheese board” at a place in Chicago. All of the cheese was from Wisconsin, but only one I recognized was Hooks. I’ll learn more.”
-Joe Molloy, Artist

“I saw you at Paul’s Club a couple months ago and you were eating a fine cheese and drinking what I believe to be a fine whiskey. You gave me the cheese because it tasted good and I have never felt fancier at Paul’s, SO THANK YOU.”
-Shauna J, Local Actress

“What a nice gift. What a thoughtful gift. Of course the way to old K-dog’s heart is cheese.”
-Kyle Kinane, Comedian

“I have watched you eat all of the cheese that mom has in her fridge before. That’s a bizarre amount of cheese considering that our mother, who is very much allergic to cheese, keeps at least five different types of cheese in her cheese drawer at any given moment. I’ve seen you take blocks of cheese from your road trip backpack to pregame Megan’s parties. From your influence, I now use the phrase, “purse cheese”.
-Aria Davis, Sister

“I remember when you brought Kyle Kinane a lovely cheese board for Madison Comedy Week and he loved it and shouted you out on his podcast.” -Jake Snell, Comedian

My passion for cheese is best illustrated by an experience I had while driving down Wisconsin’s Highway 151 on my way to visit a lover. Nestled inside a canvas bag on the passenger seat was the small marble cheese board I use for modest spreads and traveling. Atop the cool marble, a black peppercorn cheddar sat alongside a wedge of Sartori’s BellaVitano Merlot and a small clamshell of blueberries waited to be enjoyed.

Suddenly, my eye caught a sign in front of a small brown building to my right. I needed to be there. I pressed my foot into the brakes. My tires screeched as I swung the car into a sharp right turn, narrowly missing a ditch to meet a gravel parking lot.

I collected myself and looked up to confirm what I had just seen, “Schultz’s Cheese Haus Free Samples - 25 Year Cheddar”
